The Good and Bad of Wage Transparency

Shocked by the Covid-19 pandemic and its massive layoffs, but then revitalized by the sharp economic recovery and the new frontiers of employment agreements, the labor market has undergone structural changes in the last three years that are shaping the way people are going to work. 

Are we really sure that wage transparency is having a positive effect on the labor market?

In this article, the result of a partnership between the Economic Society for Bocconi Students and JEME, a junior enterprise that provides consulting services, we review the literature on this topic, trying to find evidence that either supports or dismantles this seemingly obvious result.
